Position Overview:
As the DevOps Lead, you will be responsible for leading our DevOps initiatives, improving our CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure. You will work closely with software engineers, IT teams, and product owners to streamline our development and deployment processes. This role requires a strong technical background in both software engineering and IT operations, with a proven track record of successful deployments in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a full 3/4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- DevOps Strategy & Leadership:
> Define and execute the company’s DevOps strategy, including tools, processes, and best practices.
> Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and learning.
> Act as a subject matter expert and advocate for DevOps principles across the organization. - CI/CD Pipeline Management:
> Design, build, and maintain robust and automated CI/CD pipelines for various applications and services.
> Implement and manage tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, or similar for continuous integration and delivery.
> Ensure the pipelines are efficient, reliable, and secure, enabling rapid and safe code deployments. - Infrastructure & Operations:
> Manage and scale cloud-based infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
> Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
> Oversee monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog) to ensure high availability and performance.
> Manage containerization technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes. - Software Engineering & Deployment:
> Collaborate with software development teams to optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
> Troubleshoot and resolve complex deployment and environment-related issues.
> Contribute to the development of automation scripts and tools to improve engineering productivity.
> Ensure proper version control and branching strategies are in place using Git. - Security & Compliance:
> Implement security best practices throughout the SDLC (SecDevOps).
> Work with security teams to conduct vulnerability scans and ensure compliance with industry standards.
> Manage secrets and access control for various environments.
Required Technical Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or similar role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or lead capacity.
- Proven experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Power shell, Python, Bash etc…).
- Expertise in CI/CD pipeline automation and management.
- In-depth knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of network protocols, security principles, and system administration.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with IIS and NGINX.
- Working knowledge with Linux
- Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing.
- Knowledge of database administration (SQL, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
